About Pachinko Rewards Club
What began as twelve secondhand machines in a Belmont warehouse is now Australia's largest dedicated pachinko venue — a members' club built on honest machines, late suppers and regulars who became friends.
Our story
Eleven years, three floors, one obsession
2014
The Belmont warehouse
Founder Marcus Whitfield ships twelve vintage Sankyo machines from Osaka and opens to forty founding members on Friday nights only. No kitchen, no air conditioning — just the machines and a donated pool table.
2017
The move to Crown Perth
Membership passes nine hundred and we sign a ten-year lease inside the Crown Perth entertainment precinct. The izakaya kitchen opens the same month — ramen at 2am becomes a club institution.
2021
Rewards program 2.0
We rebuild the points system around a simple promise: points never expire, conversion rates are printed at the cage, and every member sees exactly what their play earns.
Today
6,200 members and counting
Two playing floors, six private lounges, a sixteen-week tournament calendar and the friendliest floor team in Perth. The warehouse pool table still sits in the members' bar — battered, level, beloved.
The manifesto
We run machines we would play ourselves.
Every machine on our floor is chosen the same way — a staff member plays it for a week and writes down whether they'd come back to it. If the answer is no, it doesn't get floor space. That's the whole procurement policy.
We publish payout settings because secret machines breed suspicion. We cap session reminders at every tier because members who pace themselves stay members for years. And we keep the kitchen open late because nobody should have to choose between a good run and a hot dinner.
Pachinko in Japan is loud, crowded and slightly mad. We kept the noise and the machines, swapped the smoke for good coffee, and added the one thing Perth was missing — a room that treats regulars like regulars.

The people
Floor team and management
Marcus Whitfield
Founder & Director
Started the club after a decade running pachinko tours in Nagoya. Still plays machine 12 every Sunday morning.
Yuki Tanaka
Head of Floor Operations
Ex-parlour manager from Osaka. Knows every machine quirk on the floor and most members by their card number.
Priya Nair
Events & Tournaments
Runs the Thursday ladder and the Summer Cup. Former esports TO who treats a pachinko bracket like a major.
Tom Ellery
Machine Technician
Twenty years servicing amusement machines across WA. If a tower jams at 1am, Tom has it open in four minutes.
"A parlour is a machine that eats your coins. A club is a room that remembers you came back."
Marcus Whitfield
Founder, interviewed for the WA Hospitality Journal, March 2025
Design of the room
Built for long sessions
The floor was designed with a Japanese acoustic engineer and a Fremantle furniture studio. Light is warm, seats are deep, and the machines — not neon — carry the colour of the room.
Acoustic zoning
Machine rows are angled and baffled so each aisle keeps its own sound pocket — loud where you play, calm where you talk.
2700K throughout
Warm light across the floor, cooler task light at the cage. No strobing, no cold white panels after dark.
Fremantle-built seating
Every stool and lounge chair was prototyped locally for sessions over two hours — lumbar support, bag hooks, cup wells.
